Under the current law, due to the restrictions of the Fire Service Act, flammable bamboo materials that have not received any approval can only be used in some Japanese buildings such as inns, tourist facilities, restaurants, etc.
We have received various inquiries so far, but at the same time, we have witnessed the reality that various customers want to use bamboo but cannot use it because of the Fire Service Act. Recently, we often see facilities that use bamboo-printed wallpaper instead of real bamboo. That would ruin Japanese architecture.
I thought it was our mission to convey the correct culture, so I decided to make bamboo materials that wouldn't sprout in-house.

I started working on it in 2009, but it burned easily, the texture was spoiled, the cost was too high, and I couldn't get the product I wanted at first. Five years later, in January 2014, we were able to obtain approval from the Fire and Disaster Management Agency. Succeeded in flameproofing while maintaining the original beauty of "Kyomeitake", a designated craft of Kyoto. It is the birth of the world's first flameproof bamboo that throws a stone in the industry.

The world's only next-generation building material "Yokotake Flameproof Bamboo" was born from the fusion of original processing technology and the latest technology, cultivated in the history and culture unique to Kyoto and in the world of tea ceremony.
